Eternity on the Eyes
Do you realize that God's Law is the unmovable rock that will forever stop the flow of the River Life for everyone who dies in his sins? It will damn them forever! What a terrifying horror: to be damned for eternity! Yet, so few are warned. Shake off any thoughts of tickling ears with carefully chosen words that don't offend, and do what Jesus did. Speak the truth in love. Keep their fate before your mind. Inscribe "eternity" on your eyes. This life is like a dry and burning desert. Time is like precious water cupped in your hands. Only an ignorant person will let its life-giving drops fall through his or her fingers. Benjamin Franklin said, "Do you love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of." There goes another minute. Gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.

Let Us Be Eternity Minded Christians
This blog has been birthed out of a desire to stir Christians out of complacency, to wake up/shake up those who have neglected to consider what a tremendous responsibility we as Christians have to proclaim the very Gospel of Jesus Christ through which we ourselves have been saved! That being said, I am certain that in authoring this blog I too will be convicted in the lack of discipline and motivation that I have allowed to steal away many days which I should have been boldly heralding such life giving Truth!
I heard a powerful quote from a preacher that lay dying. He spoke to a friend, "I have taken a look into eternity. Oh, if I could come back and preach again, how differently would I preach from what I have done before!" Right now let us take a look into eternity. May a deep look into the "big picture" help illuminate what really matters within the tiny spec on the canvas which is today. 500 years from today what will matter? Will it matter if you are well known by many and have enjoyed fame and fortune? Will it matter if you could afford to cook the finest meal and serve it on china tonight? Will it matter if you have a closet filled with the trendiest, high fashion of the day? Of course not! Think with me now about what will matter 5, 10 or more centuries from this very day. It won't matter who you knew in this life, but who you had enough compassion to share the truth of God's Word with. It won't matter what kind of food was at your table. It will matter how much you feasted on the Word of God, having studied to present yourself as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who accurately handled the Word of truth. It will not matter what brand of clothing you sported, rather if you had put on the full armor of God so that you were able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
A day spent only on the temporal, instead of focused on the eternal is a day in which God has been robbed of His full glory. He has blessed you and I with life this day, should we not honor Him with each moment of it? If you are reading this He granted you breath this very morning that you would live another day to proclaim His glorious Gospel! I pray that none of us who have been redeemed through the blood of Christ would waste a precious opportunity to share with those perishing, the glorious truth of how their soul may be saved from the just wrath of God that they have been storing up continually against Him!
I look back at this day that I've been blessed with and sorrowfully confess that I have wasted opportunities to proclaim His truth with others who I may never see hereafter. As a housewife and mother, most of the time when I leave the house it is with a list and pen in hand for checking off errands with. I am considering that from this day forth I should write Mark 16:15 above any and all "lists" I should make! I admit in my selfishness to make today's trip to Wal-Mart a quick and efficient one I took my focus off what my chief aim should always be, to glorify God! Even in something as mundane as a rushed trip through the grocery store - in shopping, running my little girl quickly cross store (which at the time seemed like cross-country!) to "go potty" and waiting in an unusually brief check out line - in my time in that store I crossed paths with possibly 100 people today. I confess that I inconsiderately neglected doing something as simple as passing out a gospel tract to any of them! Oh how I regret having selfishly withheld the truth that is within those tracts that lie unread in my purse tonight! For all that I know, one of those I saw today may not see the light of tomorrow's dawn! How selfish of me to be "too busy" to have cared to share that which could have made an eternal difference to any given person I passed by with that shopping cart. If God grants you and I another day may we wake with a resolution to give His name the praise which is due Him and proclaim His truth!
